TÜRKAN ÖZTEKİN (Ankara,1999)

Saklambaç serisi, insanın kendini ararken aynı zamanda kendinden kaçma ve yüzleşme çabasını konu alıyor. Bu çalışmalar, içsel çatışmalarla baş etmeye çalışırken yaşanan kararsızlık ve gelgitleri görselleştiriyor. Saklambaç 1, akordeon gibi katlanmış yapısıyla iki görseli aynı anda göstererek bu ikilemi izleyiciye sunuyor. Katlanan yüzey, saklanma ve görünme arasında gidip gelen bir hali yansıtıyor. Saklambaç 2’de ise biri yüzleşmeye çalışan, diğeri kaçan iki figür yer alıyor. Zamanla saklanan figür yavaşça silikleşiyor, bu da kendini bulma sürecinin ne kadar zor ve karmaşık olabileceğini ima ediyor. Masum bir oyun gibi görünen saklambac, bu işlerde daha derin bir içsel sorgulamaya dönüşüyor.

Hide and seek, explores the paradox of searching for oneself while simultaneously escaping and avoiding confrontation. These works visualize the indecision and oscillations experienced while grappling with inner conflicts. Hide and Seek I, with its accordion-like folded structure, presents two images at once, offering this duality directly to the viewer. The folding surface reflects a state of shifting between concealment and exposure. In Hide and Seek II, two figures appear one attempting to confront, the other to flee. Over time, the hiding figure gradually fades, suggesting how arduous and complex the process of self-discovery can be. What appears to be an innocent game of hide and seek transforms here into a deeper act of inner questioning.
