“Kimlik” isimli çalışma, bireyin iç dünyası ile toplum ve kültürün etkileşimiyle şekillenir. İlk sahnede figürün yüzünü örten dantel, kimliği gizlerken korur; bu, Goffman’ın Benliğin Sunumu kuramıyla açıklanabilir. İkinci sahnede figürün örtüyü aralayıp göz teması kurması, Butler’ın performatif kimlik anlayışına uygun olarak kimliğin ifşa edilme arzusunu gösterir. Her iki sahne, kimliğin sabit değil, değişken ve çok katmanlı bir yapı olduğunu vurgular. Dantel örtü ise gizleme ve açığa çıkma arasındaki dengeyi simgeler, izleyiciyi de kendi kimliğini sorgulamaya davet eder.

The study called “Identity” is shaped by the interaction of the individual’s inner world with society and culture. The lace that covers the figure’s face in the first scene protects while hiding the identity; this can be explained by Goffman’s Theory of Presentation of the Self. In the second scene, the figure’s appearance in the veil and making eye contact shows the desire to reveal the identity in accordance with Butler’s understanding of performative identity. Both scenes emphasize that the identity is not fixed, but a variable and multi-layered structure. The lace veil, on the other hand, symbolizes the balance between hiding and revealing, and invites the viewer to question their own identity.
