Bedenin varlığı ile yokluğu arasındaki gerilimi yansıtan çalışma, insan bedenini ince bir ‘deri’ olarak iki boyutlu düzlemde ele alır. Bir yandan zamanın getirdiği geçiciliği hatırlatırken diğer yandan malzemenin kendine içkin gerilimini ve dönüşümünü sorgular. Parafin; fiziksel koşullara duyarlı yapısıyla beden ve ten ilişkisini çağrıştırır. Deri; bedeni saran ve onu fiziksel dünyayla temasa geçiren ilk yüzeydir. Metal plaka keskin kenarları ve ince formuyla, bu hassas ve geçici varoluşu taşıyan bir zemin olmanın ötesinde; gerilim ve tehdit unsuru oluşturur. Böylece eser; mekânla kurduğu geçici ilişkiler ile farklı malzemelerin birbiriyle kurduğu yeni ilişkileri sorgulamaya açar.
The work reflects the tension between the presence and absence of the body, conceiving the human form as a thin layer of “skin” stretched across a two-dimensional plane. While evoking the transience brought by time, it also questions the inherent tension and transformative nature of the material itself. Sensitive to physical conditions, wax alludes to the relationship between body and skin. As the surface that envelops the body and mediates its contact with the world, skin becomes a fragile threshold. The metal plate, with its sharp edges and slender form, not only serves as a base for this delicate and temporary existence but also introduces an element of tension and threat. Through this interplay, the work invites reflection on the transient relations established within space and the new dialogues formed between contrasting materials.
