Bu otoportre, sanatçının içsel dünyasına yaptığı sessiz ve derin bir yolculuğun yansımasıdır. Yunus Emre’nin “Bir ben vardır bende, benden içeri” sözüne atıfla, resmide görünen figür, yalnızca dışsal bir beden değil, aynı zamanda içsel bir varlığın temsili olarak karşımıza çıkar. Gri tonların hâkim olduğu kompozisyon, figürün çok katmanlı gölgeleriyle “birden fazla benliğe” gönderme yapar. Her bir gölge, sanatçının kendisiyle karşılaşmasını ve kendini tanımasını temsil eder.
This self-portrait is a reflection of a quiet and deep journey to the artist’s inner world. Referring to Yunus Emre’s words “There is a me in me, inside me”, the figure that appears in the picture appears not only as an external body, but also as a representation of an inner being. The composition, dominated by gray tones, refers to “more than one self” with the multi-layered shadows of the figure. Each shadow represents the artist’s encounter with himself and self-knowledge.
