“Babamın Hafızası” adlı çalışma, babasının anısına bir saygı duruşu olmanın ötesinde, sanatçının kendi belleğini tazelediği, yas sürecini anlamlandırdığı ve sanatın dönüştürücü gücünü deneyimlediği bir eserdir. Kullanılan tekniklerin (emülsiyon transferi, kolaj) kişisel travmaları ve kayıpları belgeleme ve iyileştirme aracı olarak işlev gördüğü vurgulanır. Proje, “sevgi ve hatıra, zamanın yenilgisini bir ölçüde de olsa durdurabiliyor” mesajıyla, anıların canlı tutulmasının önemini vurgular. Sanatçı, bu projenin “bir son değil başlangıç” olduğunu ve aile tarihini kaydetme çabasının ilk adımı olduğunu ifade eder. Projenin izleyicide kendi aile geçmişi ve anılarına dair bir farkındalık yaratması, sanatçının temel hedeflerinden biridir.
The “My Father’s Memory” project, beyond being a tribute to his father’s memory, is a work in which the artist refreshes his own memory, makes sense of the grieving process, and experiences the transformative power of art. It is emphasized that the techniques used (emulsion transfer, collage) function as tools for documenting and healing personal traumas and losses. The project underscores the importance of keeping memories alive with the message that “love and memory can, to some extent, halt the defeat of time.” The artist states that this project is “not an end, but a beginning” and the first step in an effort to record his family history. One of the artist’s primary goals is for the project to create an awareness in the viewer about their own family history and memories.
